Danai Loukidi (GR; violin)

was born in Athens and started studying classical violin at the age of six. She studied in the Department of Traditional Music at the Technological Educational Institute of Epirus (Greece) and continued her education at the Istanbul Technical University (ΙΤU, Turkey) on an Erasmus scholarship. She holds a masters degree in Violin Performance from Codarts - University of the Arts (Rotterdam, Netherlands), specializing in world music and taksim/instrumental improvisation.

Danai has twice represented Greece as a soloist in the Violins of the World festival in Istanbul and has played more than 30 concerts with the Mitos Orchestra of Labyrinth M.W. alongside internationally renowned musicians such as Ross Daly, Kelli Them, Zohar Fresco, Efren Lopez, Derya Turkan, Yurdal Tokcan and Göksel Baktagir.

Since 2020, she has been on the faculty of the Labyrinth Musical Workshop, founded by Ross Daly), and has organized and taught eight online workshops to date. This summer will be Danai’s third year teaching the advanced instrumental workshop at Yiddish Summer Weimar.
