Zilien Biret (Réunion; clarinet, flute, voice, composer)

has been collecting European klezmer archives for the last 15 years, working with Joel Rubin, Kurt Bjorling, Jeffrey Wollock, and Pete Rushevsky.
Zilien specializes in playing for dancing, working closely with Avia Moore, Steve Weintraub, and Zev Feldman to accompany Yiddish dance at various festivals around the world, including Klezkanada, Ashkenaz festival, Boston Jewish Music festival, Montréal Jewish festival, Yiddish New York, and Yiddish Summer Weimar.

He also teaches and performs Afro-Colombian music (gaita), Mandinka musica (flute), and Maloya music (voice and percussion).
